Business

FMU’s School of Business is committed to offering students a world-class education through high quality programs and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Our faculty and staff are committed to fulfilling our institution’s emphasis on growth and excellence. As a result, we periodically review, upgrade, and expand our curriculum. We offer a variety of majors and minors to equip students for careers in business and other sectors of society.

Through our Accounting program, we prepare students for professional careers in public accounting, private industry accounting, and governmental accounting.

Our Business Administration program emphasizes management studies. It is designed to direct students toward an integrated approach to modern management, theory and practice, the changing nature of management, management in a changing global environment, and creative problem solving.

Our Finance program provides students with knowledge of the major concepts and practices of financial management, while at the same time helping to develop their analytical, decision-making, and communication abilities. The Finance program will also provide students with learning opportunities that reflect the current state of knowledge and practice within the field; prepare students for careers in finance and other business areas, and offer the opportunity to pursue graduate studies.

Bill Gates, the entrepreneur, executive, business leader and philanthropist, once said that business is a game, and you keep score with money.

And at FMU, no matter which program you choose, you will learn the tools and the skills that you need to compete in this great game of business students think that accounting is math.

If you can add and subtract, you can do accounting.

In finance, the focus is on making solid financial decisions.

And in marketing, it's about learning people the understanding of why people make purchases.

Business Administration is a general degree, but it's not general in a sense of the skills, because as a manager and as a leader, we're paid for one thing, and that's to make good decisions.

The best opportunity to learn how business is done is through our internship program.

Every student is required to have two paid internships before graduation.

They'll work for great companies like Johnson and Johnson, who's hired two of our students and looking to hire four more.

Bank united, who's just hired four of our students for internships, and they're looking for a fifth one.

Mentor once told me that the door to opportunity is marked push and at Florida Memorial University, at the School of Business, the door is ready, and all you have to do is push toward your future prosperity.
