Education

We're here at the School of Education at Florida Memorial University. Our teacher education program prepare teachers to be in elementary education, secondary mathematics, science, and English and social studies. We have a phenomenal program in reading as well as ESOL. So when students complete our programs, they actually sit for the national teacher certification exam. And they receive their certification to teach either an elementary education, reading, ESOL, exceptional student education, as well as the secondary courses or majors such as biology, english, music. We also have a minor in education. These are individuals that perhaps you're majoring in biology or you major in music, but you want to add on another credential.

Every profession begins with a teacher, whether you're a doctor or lawyer, no matter what your profession is, someone had to teach you how to do that. So by you being able to be a teacher, you can impart those things into students. So when the students makes a difference when the students can learn how to read with youb learn how to do mathematic skills with you and you able to elevate their ability to do so, it's not only going to impact them, but it's going to impact you to be greater to be better.

We pride ourselves in ensuring that our students are committed to lifelong learning, that they lead the way and make an impact in our K-12 learning environment, and that they serve the community, the community and once again, within a 20 mile radius of our beautiful city of Miami Gardens. We have students that have challenges in their learning process or challenges with resources. What we do is we ensure that we serve those community and that we provide interventions as well as engaged in the learning process. So if you want a rewarding career, and you want to make an impact in the community, major in education because you definitely can make an impact when it comes to our community.
